KitchenDesk ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application designed to help kitchen equipment service technicians manage their customers, assets, inventory, and service tickets. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our application.

By using KitchenDesk, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information:

• Full name and email address used to create your account
• Company or business name
• Account password (stored as a secure hash by Firebase Authentication)

Business Data (entered by you):

• Customer names, contact information, and addresses
• Equipment/asset details: name, model, serial number, location, and photos
• Service ticket records, notes, and completion reports
• Inventory items and stock quantities
• Business sites and locations (via Google Places)

Technical Information:

• Device identifiers and operating system version
• App usage data and crash reports (for debugging purposes)
• IP address and approximate location (collected by Firebase)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your KitchenDesk account
• Sync your business data securely across devices via Firebase Firestore
• Generate AI-powered service reports using the Groq AI API
• Enable equipment lookup using Google Custom Search
• Validate business addresses using Google Places API
• Improve the performance and reliability of the application
• Respond to your support requests

4. Third-Party Services

KitchenDesk uses the following third-party services. Each has its own Privacy Policy governing how they handle your data:

• Firebase Authentication & Firestore (Google LLC) — account management and cloud data storage
• Google Places API (Google LLC) — address autocomplete and business location lookup
• Google Custom Search API (Google LLC) — equipment information search
• Groq AI API (Groq Inc.) — AI-assisted report generation

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore, hosted in the United States. We implement Firestore Security Rules that restrict access so that only authenticated users with verified email addresses can read and write their own data. No other user or third party can access your business information through our application.

We use HTTPS for all network communications and enforce email verification before granting access to account data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and business records from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.

7. Backup and Device Transfer

KitchenDesk excludes its local database from Android's automatic backup and device transfer features. All your data is restored from Firebase Firestore when you sign in on a new device, ensuring your business data is never exposed through Google's backup infrastructure.

8. Children's Privacy

KitchenDesk is intended for use by professional service technicians and business owners. It is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
